Count one OIDC client's daily, monthly and all-time users (admin)
/v1/admin/orgs/{slug}/clients/{id}/usageReturns how many distinct users obtained a token for one of slug's
organization's OIDC clients, named by its registration id: in the last
24 hours (daily_users), the last 30 days (monthly_users) and since
counting began (all_time_users). A client of another organization is
answered as 404, exactly like an id that does not exist.
A user counts when they obtain a token for the client through a grant that acts for them — the authorization code, a refresh or the device grant — and counts once per window however many tokens they obtain. A client_credentials token acts for no user and counts nobody. The server keeps, per user and client, only when the user first and last obtained one, the last to within an hour, so a window's edge is exact to within an hour; a user or a client deleted takes those notes with them.
counted_since is the earliest first use recorded for the client, and
so the start of what all_time_users covers: the server notes uses from
the release that introduced this count on, and a use before that is not
counted. It is absent when no user has been counted. as_of is the
instant the windows end at.
The counts are aggregates and name no user, so they need neither
users.read nor audit.read. Requires the nauthera.insights:read
scope and the insights.read permission. Reading them is recorded at
the trace level only, so a dashboard polling them adds nothing to the
audit log at the levels a deployment usually runs.
The organization slug. It names the TENANT OF RECORD for the operation: the rows it reads and writes, the policy its secrets are derived under, and the organization its audit record is filed against all come from this organization. A token is admitted only through its own slug, except a main-org token, which may be admitted through any — so cross-tenant administration is performed through the TARGET tenant's slug, never by naming its resources through another. A token reaching for a slug it may not be admitted through is refused identically whether that organization exists or not.
